Holiday Update

There still isn't anything to report on the lampwork front. This season was good for sales from the catalog, which is great - thank you to all my customers! - but it meant my Aspiring Arts time was spent on filling orders rather than doing lampwork. It also meant I could start to dream of installing the plumbing for the gas lines for a better lampwork torch, as well as an oxygen compressor, not to mention the torch itself.

That was until Thursday, when my laptop case fell off my shoulder and fell to the ground, landing on the end. The fall cracked the LCD screen and the upper and lower case of my laptop. This means that all the revenue from this season's sales, plus probably more, will have to go toward repairing the computer. That's life sometimes! Nothing you can do about it except roll with the punches.

On the brighter side, I'm on vacation now, so likely I'll be able to do some lampwork in the near future. Stay tuned!

More media coverage, but no glass

It's still been wild and crazy in the aftermath of NaNoWriMo, so I haven't had a chance to melt any glass lately. The good news is:

1) I finished the first draft of my novel, at last!

2) Another Boston Globe article appeared, featuring my students and me. For scans of the article, here are page 1 and page 2. Enjoy!

I have a show coming up this weekend, and I'll be making stuff for that, so more to come on glass later. Check back soon!
